“We’re not going to let the devil take over our service,” Jakes said, going on to chant, “No! No! No!” The famous preacher assured The Potter’s House that “I’m not going to let the rain stop me. I’m not going to let the weather stop me. And I’m sure not going to let the liars stop me.”
“He that is with me is more than all those that are against me,” Jakes said. “Glory to God. Hallelujah.” He then thanked the congregation for loving him, praying for him, and being concerned about him.
“If anything, I feel closer to the Lord than I ever have,” Jakes said. He then reiterated that he has done nothing wrong, saying, “The worst that could happen, if everything was true, all I got to do is repent sincerely, from my heart. There’s enough power in the blood to cover all kinds of sin. I don’t care what it is, the blood would fix it.”
“But I ain’t got to repent about this,” he added. “All I got to do is step over top of it and keep on going on. I’m not in trouble. I’m talking about the power of the blood. Amen. Thank you, Jesus. I have used it, and I will use it again. But I ain’t gotta use it for that.”
Jakes continued, “Whenever I need it, it’s available to me, and it’s available to you. And you can have it when you need it, but you don’t have to plead the blood if you didn’t do the crime.”
He then acknowledged the church’s online audience, saying, “Some of you have logged in or come in out of concern. Some of you [have] come in to hear what I’m going to say. All of you who expect me to address a lie, you can log off.” Jakes added that he would “not use this sacred day in the sacred pulpit to address a lie when I have a chance to preach a truth.”
Jakes said that he would be standing up straight and preaching the “unadulterated, infallible word of God, because that is what the pulpit is for.”

Jakes Calls Rumors ‘Young Folks’ Gossip’
Near the conclusion of his sermon, Jakes’ family, led by his wife of 43 years, Serita, joined him on the stage.
“I didn’t come to convince you, or nobody, because I know who I am—that isn’t what this is about. You think whatever you want to think. I don’t care,” he said. “I came to do my job. I came to prophesy as I was commanded. I came to hear the Master say, ‘Well done thou good and faithful servant.’”
“I came to stand up like a grown man who has a God who sees everything. I came to do my job,” Jakes said, adding that he has never “scandalized” or talked about anyone during all his years of preaching, and that won’t change. “I preach Christ and him crucified and I came here this morning to tell you about Jesus, who can take a nobody and raise him up if you just believe.”
