4. Matching Gift Campaign: Double the Impact

Next, create a matching gift campaign to increase the impact of Giving Tuesday. Seek support from a few generous donors who match every dollar raised, up to a certain amount. Ideas include:

  • Renovating youth spaces. Your youth room might need new furniture or technology. So have teens share what they’d like to improve and why.
  • Funding a program. Support a youth-led program such as free tutoring.

Tip: Announce the matching challenge in advance. Then set a time limit (such as midnight on Giving Tuesday) to encourage immediate participation. Create excitement by tracking progress and posting updates all day.

5. Social Media Takeover: Youth as Ambassadors for Giving

On Giving Tuesday, let teens take over the church’s social media. Kids can share posts and videos detailing why they’re passionate about a cause. Ideas include:

  • Behind-the-scenes videos. Remind kids to be genuine and positive.
  • Personal stories. Teens can share life change they experienced from youth group or serving. That connects donors with the real lives they’ll help shape.

Tip: Encourage teens to tag friends, family, and community members in their posts. That expands the campaign’s reach and attracts new supporters.

On Giving Tuesday, inspire generosity that goes beyond one day. Equip teen stewards to faithfully lead the way. Then cheer them on as they rally their community to support causes that matter!
